The Women in Engineering Committee is dedicated to fostering the professional and personal development of women in the engineering field.
We aim to provide development opportunities for female members in the Lambton area through networking events, workshops/seminars, volunteering opportunities, and access to resources, information, and support to further enhance their individual skill sets.
Although the committee’s mandate is to encourage and support female engineering students and professionals, events hosted by WIE are open to people of all genders.

Blog Posts
Below are our most recent blog posts relating to Women in Engineering
2018 was the second year the Lambton chapter of the PEO was able to team up with Western University to bring Go ENG Girl to Sarnia. Between the London and Sarnia events, we had over 120 girls and 110 parents participating.
It’s not news that women in STEM fields are often underrepresented. Comprising about half of the human population, women make up a significantly smaller portion of fields such as math, science, and engineering. This doesn’t mean that they cannot make a big impact in their field of expertise. Take Donna Strickland, for example, an associate professor at the University of Waterloo, who has recently won the Nobel Prize in Physics for her work as a PhD student on laser physics.
Whether as part of a local volunteering initiative to a commercial start-up to a large multinational corporation – female engineers have been able to make a positive difference in the world.
