Synopsis
In February, Sarnia-Lambton was voted among the Top 7 Intelligent Communities world-wide as announced by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) at Laval University in Quebec City after making the top 21 list for the previous four years. It is recognized for broadband internet access, workforce development, innovation, digital equality and advocacy. The final competitive round, for the title of Intelligent Community of the Year, was announced in New York City in June. The Sarnia-Lambton Intelligent Community Forum team consists of members from education, public, and private sectors all working together with the common goal of building a smarter and more connected community. This presentation will explain what Intelligent Communities are all about, what is required to win the competition, how Sarnia-Lambton did in the final competitive round, and plans for continued development into the future.
